Playing at the river

Miyama has some of the cleanest rivers in Japan, and there are lots of places you can get down to them and have some fun. Most of the villages have a designated area that you can swim in during the warmer months, just ask at your lodgings and they will guide you. It’s also important to know that after a big rain the river can be very dangerous for several days, so please make sure it’s safe with the locals before you go.
