Bamboo work-shop

Bamboo is the original eco-friendly building material, it grows fast and doesn’t die even when you cut it back heavily, it just grows again the following year.

For centuries the people of Miyama have been using bamboo for all kinds of tools and materials such as baskets, fences, toys, musical instruments and more. In our bamboo workshop, we show you how to make a variety of toys and craft items from locally-harvested bamboo, and the children get to play with the items as we go. It’s a fun activity for adults and children alike, and at the end of it you’ll have some unique souvenirs to take home if you wish.
